A Socialist America

Riding on the momentum of the new health care reform bill; democrat legislatures return home to answer to their constituents. It was a year long battle to pass the bill, that promises to cover 32 million people, currently without health care coverage.

House speaker, Nancy Pelosi sent out a memo telling democrat lawmakers they should "convey the immediate benefits of health reform to your constituents, demonstrate the work of this congress to create jobs and strengthen the economy, and publicize the benefits of the $800 billion in tax cuts this congress has enacted."

Yet, recently companies like AT&T, and Caterpillar have come out saying, this bill, will be a job killer. Caterpillar stating the new tax laws accompanying this health care reform bill will cut into their profits by $100 million in the first quarter alone. Meanwhile, AT&T expects a $1 billion charge to it's company in the first year; threatening it's ability to cover retired workers; although, the full spectrum of cost to these companies has yet to be reported.

This bill also has little known legislation accompanying it, such as it's prohibition of private loans for college tuition, and it's tax hikes on the use of tanning beds, that is no less than a discriminatory law, that will effectively be an "all white" tax.

Make no mistake about it folks, the philosophy of this administration, stands in stark contrast, of the fundamental philosophy of this nation's founders; and has positioned itself in stout opposition of the documents meant to govern this nation and it's people.

In a nation founded upon the principles of our constitution; an over energetic government, is the only obstacle in existence, that hard work, and determination will not overcome. It was the intention of our founders not to become that obstacle.

Yet, this administration has become just that. It has made itself an economic, and moral hurdle in the lives of ordinary citizens. It has promised to assure an economic equilibrium, by the means of taxation and redistribution of wealth, reminiscent of socialist, and Marxist, societal philosophies.

While it is noble to want to help someone who has fallen on hard times; it's theft for someone to acquire that assistance by force. To help someone who is unwilling to uphold his responsibility to society, is a crime against the people of that society. To reward someone for slothfulness, by punishing the hard work of his neighbors is absolute insanity.

I do not think Speaker Pelosi's memo is going to do much to appease the angry seniors in my state of Florida.

Social justice doesn't equate to a body of government having the power to use racially based motives as leverage to garnish our finances, freedom and liberty just to entitle others who haven't earned theirs.
